JOYMAISON

Located on the ground floor of the historic Deyi Building, the store’s design blends vintage Shanghai style with Japanese influences, incorporating classic elements from Suntory Distillery to symbolise cultural exchange between China and Japan. The façade features dark brown weathering steel paired with large floor-to-ceiling windows, capturing the retro spirit of old Shanghai while harmonising with the historic architecture and drawing natural light into the interior. A whisky distillation apparatus placed at the entrance sets the tone for the space, creating a creative transitional zone. Warm tones dominate the interior, and the use of natural, raw materials echoes the mountain-and-water origins of Suntory’s whisky products.
